A Photo that Describes Me:

My favorite part of a hike is the standing at the peak. I enjoy when the wind breezes through my hair at the perfect angle to dry my sweat. My calves are pulsing from that last stretch over boulders of the mountain. With just enough strength to stand, I pull my breath inside me, stretch out my arms, and gently fade into a long-lasting view.

This picture was taken at the completion of a journey with students from Phillips Exeter Academy up Mount Major, a mountain in the Northern corner of New Hampshire. This image depicts what I value most in myself: my determination, persistence, and ability to see beyond the horizon. I have learned to climb the trail despite its difficulty, keep moving because the future is inevitable, and promise myself to never fade from the view. My mother used to tell me, “life is full of many views, but they are only for the ones working to see them.”
